Description
NutraBio Creatine Monohydrate
Creatine is the most researched supplement in sports nutrition and one of the few where the evidence is genuinely settled. Nobody needs convincing that it works. The only real question is whether what is in the tub is what the label says.
NutraBio's answer is a purity specification: every batch tested to at least 99.98% pure, or it does not ship.
Why purity is the whole conversation with creatine
Creatine monohydrate is a bulk commodity chemical. The molecule is identical whoever makes it, which means the only thing separating one tub from another is what came along with it.
Creatine synthesis produces byproducts. Lower-cost sources can carry residual creatinine (a degradation product), dicyandiamide and dihydrotriazine. None of those are on any label, because nobody declares what they did not intend to include.
NutraBio uses PharmaPure, a patented pharmaceutical-grade creatine, and HPLC tests every batch to a 99.98% purity threshold. HPLC — high-performance liquid chromatography — is the analytical method that actually separates and quantifies what is in a sample, rather than inferring it.
Manufacturing happens in the United States under FDA 21 CFR Part 111 CGMP regulations.
Micronized to 200 mesh
Micronization means grinding the particles finer, and 200 mesh is a specific standard rather than a marketing word. Finer particles have more surface area, so the powder disperses in water rather than sitting on top of it in clumps.
It also tends to be easier on the stomach. Undissolved creatine sitting in the gut is a common cause of the digestive discomfort people blame on creatine generally.

How to take it
- One scoop, 5g, into at least 16 ounces of water. More water than you might expect, and it matters — creatine draws water with it.
- Drink it within 15 minutes of mixing. Creatine in solution slowly converts to creatinine, which does nothing. Mixing it in the morning to drink after work wastes some of it.
- Once daily, every day, including rest days. Creatine works through muscle saturation over time. Rest days count.
- Timing does not matter. Morning, post-workout, whenever you will remember.
- No loading required. 5g daily reaches full saturation in three to four weeks. Loading with 20g daily for five to seven days gets there faster and is where creatine's bloating reputation comes from. Optional, not necessary.
5g here versus 3g in capsules
This is 5 grams per serving, which is the standard maintenance dose used in most of the research. Our PEScience TruCreatine capsules deliver 3g, at the lower end of the effective range, in exchange for not mixing a powder.
Powder at 5g is the more complete dose and considerably cheaper per gram. Capsules are the ones you actually take if powders defeat you. Both are legitimate; pick the one you will use daily.
Who this is for
- Anyone lifting seriously, which is close to everyone. Creatine is the highest-evidence supplement on our shelf after protein
- People who want a verified purity specification rather than a generic bulk product
- Anyone who keeps kosher or halal, both certified here
- Vegetarians and vegans, who start from a lower dietary creatine baseline since the main food sources are meat and fish
- Women, who are frequently and wrongly steered away from creatine
Who this is not for
If you will not mix a powder daily, buy capsules instead. A tub you do not open is worse value than capsules you swallow.
If you have kidney issues, speak to your doctor. Creatine is well tolerated in healthy people, but clearance depends on kidney function, and that is the one population where it genuinely matters.
If you want a flavoured version, this unflavoured tub is exactly that. NutraBio makes a flavoured one with a disclosed flavouring system if plain water is the obstacle.
Stack it with: whatever you already drink. Creatine has no interactions and goes into protein, a pre-workout or plain water. See the rest of our creatine range.
Frequently asked questions
How pure is NutraBio creatine?
Every batch is HPLC tested to at least 99.98% purity before it ships. PharmaPure is a patented pharmaceutical-grade creatine.
Why does purity matter for creatine?
Because the molecule is identical whoever makes it. The only difference between tubs is the byproducts — creatinine, dicyandiamide, dihydrotriazine — that cheaper production can leave behind and that no label declares.
How much water should I use?
At least 16 ounces per 5g serving, and drink it within 15 minutes. Creatine slowly degrades to creatinine once dissolved.
Do I need to load?
No. 5g daily saturates muscle stores in three to four weeks. Loading is faster and is the main source of creatine's bloating reputation.
Should women take creatine?
Yes. The benefits for strength, power, recovery and lean mass apply regardless of sex, and women are routinely steered away from it for no good reason.
What does micronized to 200 mesh mean?
The particles are ground to a specified fineness, which increases surface area so it disperses in water instead of clumping. It also tends to sit better in the stomach.
Is it kosher and halal?
Certified OU Kosher and Halal, plus non-GMO, gluten free and vegetarian.
Should I take it on rest days?
Yes. It works by saturation, not by an acute effect on training day.
Powder or capsules?
Powder is cheaper per gram and this one is a full 5g. Capsules are more convenient and typically 3g. Buy whichever you will take every day.

It changed my life and made me look buffer
NutraBio always has great quality products that you can trust. I take 5g of this daily and wouldn't go a day without it. One of the most studied supplements and for someone who doesn't eat a lot of red meat, is a great way to ensure I get enough creatine in every day to help with ATP production.
very helpful and friendly not just about making a buck
Being 50+ this is a great supplement to help support my muscle mass.
Good product.i highly recommend
Awesome product.Simple pick up and always in stock.
It's hard to mess up creatine! It's a fair price point for the number of servings in both sizes. Not always a major NutraBio fan, but when it comes to creatine I'm all in.
